ACCA Trainee Accountant, Guildford, Surrey - up to £20k dependent on experience
This family orientated practice are looking for an ACCA Trainee Accountant who wants to be part of close knit firm of Chartered Accountants for this thriving Guildford accountancy practice to support the Accounts team.
This ACCA Trainee role offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients in various sectors ranging from large technology companies involved in bioscience and games and apps, to sole traders involved in consultancy work and hospitality.
Many clients are entrepreneurial companies requiring business advice on setting up in the UK. The Accounts team, currently consisting of a Partner, Senior Manager, Junior Manager and 3 Accounts Seniors, provide services for clients in Turkey, the USA, Europe and Australia as well as the UK. This vacancy has come about because of the requirement to expand the team in order to service the growing number of clients.
ACCA Trainee Accountant main responsibilities:
Assist with the accounts preparation of sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in a junior capacity initially, developing into a semi senior and senior role as the candidate progresses through his/her training.
Assist with preparation of VAT returns
Assist with basic tax compliance matters
Work at client premises, gaining awareness of business activities and operations
Work with Partners and staff to provide a personal, professional service for the benefit of both clients and the firm
Assist with producing accounts files for Manager/Partner reviews
Assist with bookkeeping and management accounting assignments as required
Assist with completing draft corporation and income tax computations
Trainees are expected to attend the office/client premises every day, unless on courses, holiday etc, to fulfil training requirements of the regulatory bodies. Once qualified, there will be an opportunity for flexible part-office, part-home working in the future with a requirement to work at least 2 days in the office.
