Senior ACA/ACCA Accountant - Hybrid/Guildford - Up to £52K

This rapidly expanding outsourcing and accounts team in Guildford, Surrey are now seeking to add a qualified Accountant to work on a mixture of client facing outsourcing engagements as well as statutory accounts and much more!

This Senior ACA/ACCA Accountant can expect a fast paced, challenging and diverse workload, working with business owners and management directly on projects such as implementing bespoke accounting systems as well as delivering high quality internal monthly and annual statutory reporting. There is also the opportunity to be involved in Corporate Finance work as it materialises.

This role requires someone confident and commercial enough to analyse financial information, interpret & present findings and advice to management level. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading junior staff.

Some of the main duties for this Senior ACA/ACCA Accountant include:

  • Preparation of financial accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, groups, charities and academies

  • Preparing year end working paper files and assisting auditors

  • Preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts including posting journals of accruals, prepayments, depreciation and payroll

  • Preparation of control reconciliations and analytical review schedules

  • Maintenance of client’s accounting records and reconciliations including bookkeeping, processing of client data and dealing with queries.

  • Preparation of VAT returns

  • Working at clients’ premises on their computer systems, liaising with the bookkeeper/director to prepare accounts and discuss results

This Senior ACA/ACCA Accountant would have the following qualifications and experience:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent to include Mathematics and English

  • Education to degree level or equivalent

  • ACCA/ACA qualified

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice

  • Good level of knowledge of accounting standards essential

  • Experience of working on consolidated and Charities’ accounts desirable

  • Experience of CCH Accounts Production, and Xero Software desirable

  • Good IT knowledge and skills, particularly Excel

  • Ideally be able to drive, with own vehicle
