Data Strategy Director (Ad Tech), Hybrid Working – Up to £90K plus benefits
This leading global data and measurement-driven media agency need a new Data Strategy Director to work with some of the most forward-thinking people and brands in tech.
This Data Strategy Director involves transforming the way clients think about, organise and orchestrate data & technology to deliver more timely, engaging and meaningful brand experience for their customers.
This involves thinking through the overall design of a brand’s ad stack. Included in this is how they capture, manage and segment audience data, how they augment this with strategic partnerships, the shape of their reporting data pipeline and the things that need to flow through it - right down to the policies they need to adopt to govern the management of their data in a safe and compliant way.
This Data Strategy Director will lead digital transformation, working closely with teams in North America and driving a more data-driven audience approach for paid media, data partnerships and ad tech consulting across international markets.
This Data Strategy Director will have the following responsibilities:
Acting as the agency partner for the client’s digital transformation team and leading on international strategies for audience targeting, data management & supporting tech,
Collaborating with the Data Strategy team in North America to align their data strategy efforts globally, demonstrating consistency in their approach backed by clear impact on the client’s business.
Driving the use of data-driven audiences into cross-channel campaign planning and activation, with a particular focus on processes to roll out new approaches, datasets, tech and solutions across international markets.
Creating strategic guidelines & best practice documentation for internal and external clients.
Building & rolling out robust test & learn, to validate hypothesis around the use of data
Working to future proof performance media investment through development on tech stack and measurement tool box, working closely with Ad Tech, Ad Ops and Activation
Maintaining an oversight of any changes to the data privacy landscape, helping clients and teams adapt to changes and leverage any new opportunity across martech, targeting, digital tracking and measurement through evaluations, tests and onboarding
Identifying and assessing relevant data partners and identity solutions and driving use & tests in campaigns
Upskilling the local agency network in data & tech by providing training and advice on audience segmentation, targeting strategy, digital tracking, measurement etc..
Eventually growing a team to support the needs of the different regions, starting with EMEA and LATAM.
This Data Strategy Director will have:
6+ years experience in data strategy, audience planning, ad tech or programmatic roles.
A working knowledge of media platforms / DSP’s and data/customer management platforms.
A proven ability to build strong relationships with clients at various levels of seniority, understanding their business aims and challenges and provide relevant data & tech solutions
Strong analytical skills and a natural affinity for numbers is key; You must be able to analyse raw data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations.
Strong content & presentation skills, including the ability to tailor content for both technical & non-technical stakeholders.
Experience within the Google Marketing Platform, in particular, DV360, Google Analytics, Campaign Manager, and Google Ads.

Experience driving data partnership opportunities with clients that do not own a lot of first-party customer data
Experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics
Experience with DMP/CDPs such as Adobe Audience Manager, mParticle, Oracle BlueKai etc.
Understanding of consumer research methodology and tools (i.e. TGI, GWI, YouGov) with the ability to translate findings into insights and applications, down to media targeting and messages
